Salim Chowdhury

Centenary Ward Councillor

Salim and his family have lived and run businesses in Harrow for over 46 years. He has been running his own company for over 30 years. Salim has been a School Governor, and previously served as a Councillor for Pinner South Ward. During Covid Salim donated 33,000 meals to NHS staff, hospitals, and hospices. Salim is passionate about tackling crime, and has served as a Special Constable with the Metropolitan Police. He is an NHS Volunteer and regular fundraiser for numerous charities.

Salim was Mayor of Harrow for the 2024/25 civic year.

Since May 2022, Salim has represented Centenary Ward alongside Cllr David Ashton and Cllr Govind Bharadia. He currently the Cabinet Assistant for Adults & Children's Services, reporting to Cllr Jean Lammiman, Cabinet Member responsible for Adult Services & Public Health and Cllr Hitesh Karia, Cabinet member responsible for Children's Services.

David Ashton was elected a s a Councillor for Centenary ward in May 2022. He has previously been a councillor for the same area from 1998 to 2010, when it was Wemborough, and later Belmont. David was Leader of the Council from 2008 to 2010.
