Promise Delivered: 1 Hour Free On Street Parking

Harrow Conservatives will deliver on their election pledge to introduce 1 hour free on street parking across the borough from the start of August.

Currently on street parking is free for 20 minutes. The new Conservative administration approved a report on the 23 June which will increase this to 60 minutes free parking, which we aim to start from the 1 August.

Conservative Councillors believe free parking will help local businesses as it will make it easier for residents to use their local shops. Free parking will also save people money, which is especially important given the rising cost of living.

Conservative Leader of Harrow Council, Cllr Paul Osborn said:

“We’re delivering on our promise of an hour free parking for our residents. This will encourage residents to shop locally and support our local high streets that are the lifeblood of our local economy.”

Harrow Council’s Conservative leadership are also working on introducing 1-hour free parking in Council car parks. It will take longer to deliver this policy as the car park ticket machines will require more complex alterations and upgrades to handle free parking.
