Making Tough Decisions To Protect Harrow's Future

The process of setting Harrow Council's budget for 2023/24 is well underway. Conservative Councillors are working hard to ensure that frontline services are properly funded.

The financial situation the Conservative administration inherited in May was worse than expected. The previous Labour leadership had spent vast amounts of the Council's reserves (savings) and had failed to modernise departments who are using outdated and expensive systems.

Council finances are also suffering due to the record levels of inflation currently being experienced due to Putin's war in Ukraine and the economic fallout  of the Covid pandemic.

Therefore, there will likely be a number of tough decisions taken in the Council's February budget. But your Conservative Council will do everything in its power to protect vital services and facilities while ensure the financial stability of Harrow Council.
