Harrow was the first and only London borough to use JCB's Pothole Pro. This has enabled us to significantly increase the quality and quantity of our potholes repairs. Central government required us to make a submission showing the work we were doing. This showed that in the last financial year we have filled 7,055 potholes compared to the last year of the previous Labour administration (2021/22) where they only filled 851 potholes.
The leap in road repairs is down to the significant investment made by Conservative Councillors into highways maintenance.
Harrow Conservatives know how important the quality of the roads are to local people. That’s why, in February of this year, Conservative Councillors agreed a plan which will see at least £42 million invested in local roads over the next three years.
In addition to pothole repairs, last year 47 roads were completely resurfaced, and our investment plan will see at least 68 roads completely resurfaced this year.
While there has been progress, we know that there is still much more to be done. Getting Harrow’s roads up to a good standard remains a central priority for your Conservative Council.
