On Monday 10 November roadworks around Rayners Lane town centre commenced to prepare the roads for the new Red Route.
The Red Route restrictions are expected to start on Monday 24th of November.
Conservative Councillors have implemented the Red Route to stop dangerous double parking which was a frequent and longstanding problem in Rayners Lane that caused many traffic jams.
In addition to the Red Route, designated moped parking areas are being built to free up more spaces for residents to park when visiting Rayner Lane’s shops.
The parking problems at Rayners Lane town centre are longstanding issues. The previous Labour leadership at Harrow Council and Rayners Lane’s Labour councillor did nothing to solve these problems.
It is only through the tireless work of Rayner Lane’s Conservative councillor Thaya Idaikkadar and his colleagues that this solution has been brought into effect.
