Harrow Conservatives are committed to making our borough clean and safe.

In order to achieve this, we have taken a ruthless approach to enforcement as we believe those individuals who choose to dump their rubbish should be severely punished.

We have more than doubled fines for fly-tipping from £400 to £1,000 as well as increasing the Council’s enforcement team, so that we have more professional staff to investigate dumped rubbish.

When Harrow Labour lost control of the Council in May 2022, the Council was only issuing a handful of fines per year. This meant that fly-tippers could operate without fears of repercussions.

In 2021, Labour-run Harrow Council only issued 17 fines for fly-tipping. But under Harrow Conservatives, the Council issued 467 fines in 2022, 1,334 fines in 2023 and 1,257 fines in 2024.

We have also started a ‘Wall of Shame’ on the Council’s website where residents can view footage of unidentified perpetrators of fly-tipping and help us if they recognise someone. You can view the ‘Wall of Shame’ HERE.

We know there is still much more to be done, but we are taking firm action to crackdown on people who illegally dump rubbish in our community.
