Harrow’s Conservative Council is implementing a Red Route along Rayners Lane to stop illegal double parking and impose new measures to clamp down on moped in car parking bays.
The Red Route restrictions will apply to the roads which make up Rayners Lane town centre. This will be the first Red Route in Harrow.
The Red Route will apply to:
- Alexandra Avenue, between the junction of Warden Avenue and Rayners Lane.
- Rayners Lane, between the junction of Alexandra Avenue and Village Way East.
- Village Way East, between the junction of Rayners Lane and Imperial Drive.
The Council will be able to use CCTV to enforce against any car which blocks the road, or parks outside of a designated parking bay, meaning that traffic wardens do not need to be present.
Also, following significant concerns from residents about excessive moped parking, the Council has listened. From November mopeds will be subject to maximum stay restrictions and will need to pay to park in Rayners Lane or face fines.
These measures have been achieved due to Conservative councillors working hard behind the scenes to solve the long-term issues in Rayners Lane.
