Pie chart showing that the vast majority of Harrow residents oppose the Labour government's choice to cut the winter fuel payment

In September Harrow Conservatives ran a poll of local people asking if they supported the new Labour government's decision to cut Winter Fuel Payments to all pensioners who do not receive Pension Credit.

The results are in and it is clear that the people of Harrow reject the Labour government's cruel and callous decision to target older residents.

An estimated 27,000 pensioner households in Harrow are expected to lose their Winter Fuel Payments as a result of the Labour government's cut.

At a Council meeting in October your Conservative Councillors put forward a motion to declare Harrow Council's formal opposition to this cut.

While the motion was passed by Conservative Councillors, most local Labour Councillors refused to even defend their government's decision and did not acknowledge the negative impact this policy will have on our older residents.

Harrow's Conservative Council is doing what it can to support our pensioners during this challenging time.
