Harrow’s Conservative Council has issued over 4,000 fines for fly-tipping and waste offences since May 2022.
The Council’s performance data shows a surge in the number of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) issued to perpetrators of fly-tipping in the last 3 years.
Keeping Harrow clean and safe is a key priority for the Council’s Conservative leadership, which is why we have increased the size of the Council’s enforcement team.
Also, in 2023 we increased the fine for fly-tipping from £400 to £1,000, which is the maximum fine that councils can issue, to act as a further deterrent.
Under Conservative leadership, the Council has also launched a digital ‘Wall of Shame’ where CCTV footage of people fly-tipping is publicised to help gather information on the offenders, as well as publicly shaming them for dumping their rubbish.
In contrast, during the last year that Labour ran Harrow Council they only issued 124 fines for fly-tipping.
Only Harrow Conservatives have a proven track record of taking serious action against fly-tipping.
